What We Do

Creek line regeneration in the McLaren Vale region is the key objective of Biodiversity McLaren Vale. These creek lines are primarily on the Willunga, Maslin and Pedlar Creek systems.

This regeneration has the following benefits:

  • Protecting and enhancing the biodiversity of privately-owned land within the McLaren Vale landscape

  • Improving the appearance of our region, particularly around grape and wine properties

  • Enhancing the credentials of McLaren Vale’s regional eco-wine tourism brand

  • Raising the region’s biodiversity score, as captured by the McLaren Vale Grape Wine & Tourism Association’s Sustainable Winegrowing program

What we are achieving:

  • The clearing and regeneration of heavily degraded creek lines within the McLaren Vale region

  • Slowing of the spread of olives and other feral woody weeds across the region

  • Enhancing our landscape

  • Strengthening populations of diminished flora

  • Improving native fauna habitats

  • Increasing local environment health awareness

  • Community engagement

  • Reinforcing McLaren Vale’s premium eco-wine destination credentials

  • Increasing the presence and habitat for beneficial insects
